1 Vs. 100

Tonight thanks to the player cap being removed I got to try out the beta. I was lucky enough to have a friendly face around as well.

Tonight Baumdar5000 and myself played the 1 Vs. 100 beta for about 2 hours. I have to say after playing it. It is completely worth the wait we have had since E3 in 2008 when it was announced. This is what I saw. When you get in the lobby you can send invites from there. Four friends to a room. Keep in mind that there are no private setting once the game has started. After I invited Baumdar we entered the game. The player and the mob are chosen randomly. Baumdar and myself kept being shoved in the crowd. That’s not really a bad thing though. You can still win prizes, it’s just a a lot harder to do.

The way the prizes work is pretty simple. If your the player then it pretty easy. You answer the question. The goal is to knock out members of the Mob. The more you knock out the more Microsoft points are available. If your in the Mob, and you win. You split the winnings with the remaining Mob. If your in the crowd, it’s bit different. You have to be one of the top three players. If you are you get a free arcade game. Tonight it happened to be Hardwood Spades.

I won no prizes, but was about 2,000 points shy of being one of the top three. The questions are pretty easy for the most part. I’m sure that will change before the launch of the game at the end of the year. Since it is free to Gold members, it’s really worth a look. The next beta Live show will be this coming Saturday and Sunday.
