Stock up on ammo and pick up your favourite guns for the Xbox Live Marketplace will be banishing all “gun-like” avatar items starting on January 1st of the new year. The reason is unknown but the news came into light after this post on the Epic Games community forums.
Another note to take point of is that those who have already purchased these items such as the ones from Gears of War 3 (Lancer / Hammerburst) prior to the ban are in the clear. You will still be able to hold onto your items, no questions asked.
Now if you want to be the owners of a limited edition gun on the marketplace, go spend your spoils on them before it’s too late!
