Well, guys I have reached that all too familiar point again. I have no time for the site, or for that matter anything else in my life. Between work, family, gaming, everyday crap and this site there are just not enough hours in a day. Something has to go and the only thing in that list that can is the site.
This all occurred to me at work. I bought a legal pad to write in while I was slow at work. I was writing ideas and drafts for blogs. I have wrote around 18 pages of stuff in the past week and have not implemented not one single post or idea to the site because of time restraints. So between lack of time, a significant drop of hits on the site and a lack of user and staff content, I’m very sad to announce that sometime in the very near future jggh.net will close.
I said when this site started that I would give it a year. At the year mark I decided to give it another year. Well, the 2 year mark will be on June 9th. Granted, we have evolved very nicely and I have met some great people, but I think that jggh.net has reached the end of its life as we know it. Understand that jggh is not going anywhere just the .net part. I will continue to keep jggh going as a group on Facebook. jggh is not dead. The domain name will live on and in the coming weeks something will become of it. Something not so high maintenance. jggh started of as a clan and evolved into a web site/Community. Well, we are shifting into reverse. I will focus a certain amount of energy into making jggh more of a ‘clan’ environment. i will be naming Clan Captains on Facebook soon, well for those of you who stick around.
I know that there are regulars who visit here and have taken the time to either post under Community Voice, played events and even commented on posts. For all of you all I can offer is a Thank You for your loyalty and time. To the jggh Staff. You guys are some of the best gamers I have ever played with and I know you all put plenty of hard work into this site as well. Also all I can offer you is a Thank You as well. Rather you made graphics, done tech support, promoted the site or even supported my stupid decisions, you all are the reason I kept going so long. This site has had over 13,000 hits in the past 12 months and I hold you responsible for that. So Thank You very much!
It’s been a fun and stressing ride, but it’s just my only option. The important thing to remember is that jggh is not going to die, but find new life. I’m not sure about a date to close because of our committed Community Play Date in June. Until then I will continue to try and support this place the best I can, but will also be making the transition to Facebook until I decide the best way to translate this space into a new one. Till then I hope to see you all hang around. For that matter I hope to see you all stick with jggh because it’s not much of a Gaming Hour if there are no gamers.
