I'm Ready for my Damn Water!

Oh, how things change. No more than five months ago this site was very active for it to be so small. No more than five months ago my game sessions I had could only be described as Epic. Now I could watch Titanic and have more fun than I do.

What in the hell has happened? Hardly any new posts on the site and it seems that I can't even get a game going online with more than two or three people. I work a full time job, have a 3 year old and I am in the middle of mending a broken relationship. I still find time to game and visit this very site. Now I keep in mind that this site may mean more to me than most anyone who happens to stumble across this tiny blog page. I also know that gaming is not a high priority for some. To be honest it's not really a huge priority for me as much as it used to be. One thing I continue to do is still have fun.

The thing that really burns my ass is apparently I'm the only one with that mentality. Rather it be that you have no new games to play or you have had problems with your game outlet. There should be no reason not to stay in contact with the relationships you have made gaming or otherwise. I refuse to believe that if someone stops gaming that their life is going to make a complete 180. You might find your self with more time, but to do what is the question. I have noticed this happening on the site and in game sessions since before Christmas. I told myself that it's the holidays and it will pick back up. Boy was I wrong.

For the longest time I thought to myself that I should just shut the whole damn thing down. I thought “No, I can't do that.” I'm thinking now that maybe I should have. I kept going with it because I enjoy talking to everyone, rather it be in game racing or killing zombies, or posting a video for everyone to laugh at in the forum. Now I find myself at a crossroad. Should I keep going with the site? Should I even to continue to play games online? It all seems like a lot of work for a couple of hours of fun. The site has been littered with empty promises and ideas. Everything from pod casts to fun ideas for blogs. I have seen such a lack of commitment that I really just don't care anymore. I hold no one responsible for anything, it's not like people where employed by me or anything. It's just empty thoughts that really irk me.

I guess the point I'm trying to make out of all of this very offensive blog is this: I'm tired. I'm tired of trying to build this site. I'm tired of trying to get people into games. I'm tired of people telling me things that never take form. To be honest I'm about tired of every damn thing that I have busted my ass to do in the past 7 months. You can only walk in the desert for so long before you need water. I think I'm ready for my damn water. So until next time Come in, have fun, be social…..hell with it Out!

I am very sorry that you feel that way man. I mean i never really thought of it like that. In the since that I know you better than anyone on the site with the exception of Keller, I know that from how you sound in the post that it really bothers you man. You know that I have been working my ass off all the time and sleep the other part of the day and well man….just call me and we’ll set up a game day just us and whom ever else wants to join. Just give me a day and I swear that I will ask off from work.

    B-dar out.

Well well well. Speedle has finally come to check out the blog, only to find a rant from our fearless leader talking about how annoyed he is that we don’t all have the same prioritization of gaming in our life as him.

You came out swinging, and I’m doing the same.

We don’t owe you anything. The fact that this is important to you is great — but has absolutely no bearing or steering on our lives. Everyone has priorities that only they can understand — whether it be family, job, charity work, whatever. What gives *YOU* the right to declare that you are more important than whatever we choose to do with our time?

I work a full time job, have 3 children under the age of 5, and a wife who deserves my attention whenever I have any spare time. If I choose to spend my one spare hour to myself at night surfing the web, flipping through Playboys, or playing a game is my own decision.

By that same token, you are the one choosing to invest your own time, blood, sweat, tears and love into this site. That’s entirely your decision, and if you want to be disappointed in me (or anyone else) for not having the same conviction and priorities that you do, well then that’s your damn problem.

Don’t yell at everyone here who is still reading this blog because you’re mad at some of us contributors who have decided that there are other obligations that demand our time more than this site.

Having said all that, I would love to get together and game sometime. I haven’t even been on the Xbox myself for the last 2 or 3 weeks, it’s all been my 4 year old. Hope to see you soon!

Ok, I did come out swinging. I was having a bad day and it happened. The thing is, I will not apoligize for what I said. If I wrote it on a bad day that must be how I feel on some level. I know people have lifes, family’s, jobs ect. My point was friendships not games. If your not gaming fine but it only takes 5 minutes to log in to a forum and say hello.

As far as the gaming end of it. Yes, I do feel that the online game sessions I’m in have took a down hill trip. As of late they have been a blast. I hope they stay that way. Remember the only thing you ever win in an online game is friends. I hope to see and talk to all of you soon, if you still come here anyway.

Ya know, to an extent I understand about the forum looking like it is dying and such. I have to say if you find the time to game at all, you should be able to take 2 seconds to say SOMETHING letting everyone else know you’re still there or w/e. I miss a lot of the people too and I know it can be disconcerting (or however you spell that damn word) to come in and see posts dating a month and more back without anything ‘new’ from anyone. Life does have its’ more pressing matters and that is understandable. Friends? Where? lol I have 2 that I still find the time to talk to on Live, otherwise no one else is around too much these days or they don’t talk to ya unless you say something first and even then, it is a minimal conversation and fades quickly or you get the feeling you’re beneath them and they’d rather be doing something else so you just say fuck it and don’t say anything at all to them when you DO see anyone online. Meh, the site was a good dream ‘gore and I know it can become better with a LOT of time and patience and attention to things that need weeded out and/or added and/or changed. ;0)

To everyone that was here before, miss y’all and miss the killer nights we had….definately some memorable times. =0)
