As you know, on April 1 we will be having our Playdate with Halo: Reach. We will be giving away prizes. Now, I say prizes because that’s exactly what they will be. You will have to fight against what may same to be impossible odds. If you overcome these odds, you and your randomly selected team mate will be walking away with XBLA games.
Prizeball is a variant of Oddball, that is played on a variant of Hemorrhage. This game type consists of five 2 player teams and one 6 player team. The objective is just the same as Oddball. Hold the ball for points, and whoever has the most points at the end wins. There are a few things different about Prizeball though. Not only will you and a random team mate face 4 other 2 player teams, but there will be a 5 person team of jggh game hosts on the ground and a designated sniper that is for the most part, unreachable. Now that sounds unfair, but we don’t make it completely unfair.
You will have a fair supply of weapons and vehicles that are at your disposal. The most important part of it all is that the ‘Orange’ team (jggh) will only fire on the current team that is leading the match unless otherwise fired on. We will defend ourselves, but will not fire your team unless you are leading the match. This includes the sniper. The game itself will also include some minor tuning, that will be adjusted game by game. To make the game reachable to win there are also 2 balls on the map. There are still plenty of secrets to be revealed about Prizeball, but the only way you will find those secrets is to be lucky enough to be one of the random players that will be selected to play on the night of the event.
Hope to see you all on April 1! If you have any questions about this map or game type, please feel free to ask in the comments.
