Nintendo has announced that the 3DS will receive a massive price drop on August 12th worldwide, less than six months after the consoles release. The price will be reduced by nearly a third worldwide from: £200 – £140 in the UK  — $249 – $169 in the US  –  ¥ 25,000 – Â¥15,000 in Japan. Still, prices are the most expensive in the UK, by quite a significant margin… as usual.
Nintendo also revealed that people who have downloaded the eShop on their 3DS before August 12th will receive a slew of free games — 20 in fact. The so-called 3DS Ambassadors will be receiving 10 NES games, as well as 10 GBA titles. As an Ambassador myself, I think this is a great way to reward early adopters as these games would retail for $10+ each on the eShop. I’m happy with this, but what about you? You can see the full list of so far confirmed titles below:
NES -Â Super Mario Bros, Donkey Kong Jr, Balloon Fight, Ice Climber and The Legend of Zelda + five more to be announced
GBA - Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3, Mario Kart: Super Circuit, Metroid Fusion, WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$ and Mario Vs Donkey Kong + five more to be announced. (*hopes for a Pokémon title*)
