Comic Jumper is Twisted Pixel’s newest edition to the Xbox LIVE Arcade as part of the Game Feast promotion. It’s about a failed super hero trying to reclaim his greatness by regaining his own comic after being canceled. To do this feat you must guest start in other comics to make enough money to start your own comic back.
If you have played any of Twisted Pixel’s other games such as The Maw or Splosion Man then you will know from the minute you start it up that it has the developer all over it. A great mix of platforming, slap stick and just general fun. This game is laid out in so many art styles. Everything from your standard 3d side scroller to live action. The game is composed of 3 stages with 3 levels in each. Every stage is a different art style and type of platforming. The game has a trying difficulty, but nothing that can’t be handled with a fair bit of patience and planning. Checkpoints on most levels are located in a place so even if you die you still never really get frustrated. Mini boss battles in every level as well as great boss battles at the end of every stage.
The dialog in the game is simply amazing. It’s funny from the start. Simple because every word said in the game most gamers will hugely enjoy and at least give a chuckle. The further you get in the game the better the dialog gets. With lines like “Great shooting Cheney!” and “You are a pile of suck.” you can’t really go wrong. Everything that your ‘sidekick’ Star says is just pure joy. He is as foul mouthed as any would be sidekick and that really shows in the second genre of the game.

You can upgrade Captain Smiley’s abilities as well as purchase in game bonus material with in game cash. This includes gamer pics and a premium theme. Also if you happen to have Splosion Man you may want to save up 5000 in game to purchase something special. The achievements are pretty easy to come by and most anyone who spends time with the game will be able to compete the game. It also has Avatar awards that I have chose not to spoil for you. I said before Twisted Pixel was all over the game and I meant that as they are featured in several live action sequences through the game.
All and all Comic Jumper is a great purchase for 1200 MS Points from the Xbox LIVE Arcade on October 6. I really enjoy this game and I think that most anyone that don’t care to spend the points will too.
