Hype, Fanboys and General Complaints

The world of video games. What can you say about it. It has some of the most hyped events ever, and that leads me right in to what I want to talk about.

Some of the best games I have ever played has gotten some of the worst complaints in history. Now I know i'm not the only person on the planet that did not complain about the length of Fable. I thought the length was fine. Then I have heard people say as much “hype” as the game had it should have been longer.

Don't get me wrong i'm the same way. I am one of those people who did not care for GoW because it did not live up to the hype I had created for myself. That is where fanboys come into play. I guess that I might be considered a fanboy for Fable or maybe not. That matters not. Every game has fanboys, but nothing has more fanboys than the systems. There is nothing I hate more than when I hear someone say the 360 is a perfect system or Sony's online play is not that bad. It becomes a game of push and shove. I don't understand why people can't accept the fact that all the systems have their own flaws in their own ways. I wish I could round all the fanboys up in a room with the systems and games they oppose just to see them find out other stuff is good too.

Then after the hype and the fanboys what happens? The publishers and the developers take notice. So now they say we see money. What do we see? Special editions! More than that now they are getting so huge. I guess that this is the way that it was bound to be after the gaming world got big. Money leads to hype, fanboys, more expensive games and a slew of other things. Then again it also leads to a wonderfull gaming experience. So in the end i guess it might all be worth it in the end.
