Kinect Fun Labs Announced and Released

Microsoft announced Kinect Fun Labs during their press conference today. Think of it as a sort of app store for Kinect. You download little ‘apps’ for us with Kinect, such as ‘Bobblehead’, where you turn yourself into, well, a bobblehead. They also confirmed that people on PC can use the dev tools for Kinect to create apps for the store. This could be very interesting indeed.

One of the most eye catching apps shown was the ‘Build a Buddy’, allowing you to scan in object that you can then use in games, and virtually interact with. ‘The stage tech demo with a stuffed toy worked very well. This was something Microsoft promised when they first announced Kinect, boasting how you could scan in you favourite things, but it never really materialized. Good to see that it’s actually happening now.

Better yet, Microsoft surprised us by releasing Fun Labs right now, and it’s free! Add it to your download queue here.
